For greater vocational and adult education and training – visit from North Macedonia

As part of the Education for Employment (E4E) project, a delegation from North Macedonia visited Switzerland at the end of April. The E4E project, funded by the SDC and supported by HELVETAS, aims to strengthen vocational and adult education and training in North Macedonia. With this in mind, the influence that the private sector and, in particular, trade associations have in vocational education and training needs to be increased.

Together with SVEB’s International Project Manager Marianne Müller, the delegation visited various professional organisations (OdA) in Switzerland. During the two-day visit, the delegation exchanged views with the Association of Master Builders and learnt about its functions in vocational and adult education and training. The association carrosserie suisse provided an insight into vocational and adult education and training in the automotive professions and the professional organisation OdA Umwelt presented qualifications and adult education programmes in the environmental sector.

Opportunity for exchange

The delegation also paid a visit to the SVEB. SVEB also acts as a professional organisation in the area of training of trainers (ToT). In addition, our apprentice Imela Bajra gave the delegation an insight into her apprenticeship as a commercial employee at SVEB.

For SVEB, international projects are a good opportunity to ensure knowledge is transferred from and to Switzerland in exchanges with delegations from abroad, and also to reflect on its own practices and to recognise developments at an early stage.
