Strengthening the voice of adult education in sustainable development

Thanks to funding from MOVETIA, SVEB is able to carry out a project on the topic of “twin transition” in collaboration with the European Association for the Education of Adults (EAEA) and the International Council for Adult Education (ICAE). The term twin transition means when the green and digital transitions go hand in hand. The aim of the project is to strengthen the voice of adult education in the twin transition process – in Switzerland and internationally.

The digital and green transitions are closely connected, for example through energy-intensive data utilisation or digital options for tackling the challenges of climate change. This is why, increasingly, the green and digital transitions are no longer being viewed separately but rather as a twin transition.

Adult education plays a key role in the twin transition process. In both the digital and sustainability sectors, adults need the appropriate skills, competences and knowledge to be able to deal with the challenges that arise.

Developping strategies

This means adult education needs a strong voice in this process in Switzerland, Europe and internationally. The project helps adult education stakeholders in the development of strategies and the representation of their interests in the twin transition process. To this end, the project will, first of all, organise courses and, secondly, will create a toolbox with useful aids.

The first course will take place from 28 to 30 May 2024 in Belgrade. The registration for the course will be published in January 2024. If you are already interested in the course, feel free to contact Marianne Müller.
