Thanks to the support of the national agency Movetia, from 2021 to 2023 the Swiss Federation for Adult Learning SVEB was able to take part in the European Erasmus+ project Spiritus Loci (Partnership of Places, communities and art forms for an education to beauty). The project aims to enhance places of cultural significance by educating and raising awareness among the local population.
The Spiritus Loci project focussed on the development of innovative courses aimed at enhancing and strengthening the identity of physical places of cultural significance through educational, recreational and creative activities. The aim is to enable new experiences at cultural sites which, in the traditional cultural sector, are often not seen or experienced very much. The local population needs to become proactively involved in the implementation of these courses, with a focus on the younger generation.
Teaching and learning resources from the Spiritus Loci project
SVEB’s involvement in the project focussed on the development of curricula and teaching resources for trainers.
The project has been completed. The following materials are available free of charge:
- a hybrid adult education programme entitled “Erziehung zur Schönheit” (Education for Beauty), which is aimed at trainers, artists and people involved in enhancing places of cultural significance;
- an MOOC (Massive Open Online Course), consisting of three modules designed to develop the skills required to promote activities for enhancing the cultural heritage.
