CONFINTEA: Implementation of Marrakech Framework for Action MFA

In June of last year, participants from over 142 countries gathered at the 7th International Conference on Adult Education. The main result of the conference is the jointly adopted Marrakech Framework for Action (MFA), outlining the key goal definitions for the development of adult education. Key action areas include, for example, inclusion and also the digital and green transformation.

Now it’s a matter of implementing the MFA in the coming years. On an international level the implementation process is underway. A first follow-up meeting for the European region took place in October to discuss the implementation of the MFA in Europe. Similar follow-up meetings will be held in 10 different regions throughout the world. At the same time, the level of development of adult education is being documented in the Global Report on Adult Learning and Education (GRALE).

To implement the MFA in Switzerland, a consortium has been set up that includes representatives from the confederation and civil society. SVEB is part of the consortium and is happy to play a part in implementing the MFA in Switzerland. With its broad project portfolio, focusing on areas such as basic skills, sustainability and digitalisation, SVEB already plays an active role in the implementation of the MFA in Switzerland today.
